STYLE UP YOUR EVENT
The challenge
After take-over and a complete renovation of the hotel, ibis Styles Kortrijk Expo wanted to attract more & new business clients to its hotel. However, simply inviting them to come over to discover the hotel has proven to be difficult, certainly when there is no direct need of a company for rooms or seminar spaces.
The idea
The spaces in the hotel can be rented for events. Therefor, there is no better way of showing the option the event rooms offer than during an actual event. After identifying the main target group, being management & marketing assistants, we've researched what they are struggling with in their day to day job and how we can help them making live easier.
The idea was born to create a learning community for our target group where they can help each other out with event related questions. To bring this community together a series of events concerning event organisation will be organised. During these events burning event related questions can be answered and lots of practical tips & tricks are given to the target group.
We've partnered up with other players in order to ensure qualitative content and Stad Kortrijk became a structural partner. For them attracting business outside of Kortrijk towards the city for events and meetings is one of their objectives as well.
The result
The first edition of this event took place in December 2019. For this first edition, more than 60 participants from companies in West-Flanders subscribed and came to the event. In the satisfaction survey, 85% of the participants have confirmed that they will come to next editions of the event as well.
In total 10 content partners contributed to the event which has led to 2 business cases, a choice for the participants between 4 talks and a workshop to round up the morning. The event ended with a network lunch for all the participants.

About us
Gin Y Mar is a bunch of motivated team players with a combined marketing and go-to-market experience of over 25 years. It is founded by Félice Vandenabeele who has a background as a commercial engineer and has gained her stars & stripes in the field through working for big national and international advertising agencies. She has helped national and international clients and brands to conquer new markets, enter new territory and gain market share. Now she has developed her own go-to-market strategy and has gathered a flexible team around her, always adapted based on the clients needs.
